“My partner and I own Baz Bagel & Restaurant. We are a 5 year old LGBTQ-owned bagel bakery and full-service restaurant. We opened the restaurant to provide an easy daily cafe for the community in our neighborhood (families, old-timers, and us). We also have been told that our decor has quite a bit of queer campy vibes, which attracts our amazing clientele (young Barbra Streisand poster is our version of the Mona Lisa at Baz). We have hosted a quite popular quarterly drag diva bingo as well as events such as Susan Alexandra fashion show with gender bending waitresses and performance which has connected us to the broader LGBTQ community.”
